Sasol is offering 14 motivated South African youth the opportunity to join its Fire Fighter Learnership Programme for 2025 – a hands-on, structured training experience that combines classroom learning with real-world fire and rescue operations.

Programme Overview
Closing Date: 15 September 2025
Location: Secunda (6 positions) and Sasolburg (8 positions)
Contract Type: Fixed-term Learnership
Remuneration: This is a paid opportunity
Sasol’s Fire Fighter Learnership equips learners with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in emergency services. Learners will undergo rigorous training and assessments, preparing them for careers in firefighting, safety, and disaster response.
Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- South African citizenship
- National Senior Certificate (Matric) with passes in:
- Technical Mathematics or Mathematics
- English or Business English
- Technical or Physical Science
- Valid Code B driver’s license (or higher)
- Ability to pass:
- A fire fighter fitness test
- A stress and fear assessment (working at heights, confined spaces, fire exposure)
Key Responsibilities
As part of the learnership, successful candidates will be expected to:
- Participate actively in all training sessions and practical exercises
- Successfully complete assessments and readiness activities
- Demonstrate professionalism, discipline, and safety awareness at all times
